BSS Loves Involved Parents!
When parents play active roles in their childrens' school, the entire school community benefits:

As a parent, you can get involved at Blessed Sacrament School in a number of different ways depending on your availability and interest. Take a look at the following descriptions and approximate time commitments. Then fill out this form and let us know how you'd like to get involved!Parents' Council
- The Parents' Council serves as an advisory board to the principal.
- Helps the principal to make big-picture decisions regarding the direction of the school.
- Meets regularly twice a month for 1 hour.
Parent-Teacher Association (PTA)
- The Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) serves by running a variety of school events such as dances, holiday celebrations, teacher appreciation week, Trunk or Treat, Winterfest, fundraisers, etc.
- Meets regularly once a month for 1 hour
- Event Preparation requires different time commitments based on the event or committee assignment.
Room Parent
- Room Parents serve directly in the classroom by helping the teacher with a variety of activities.
- All Room Parents must first complete the Safe Environment Training and read the Diocesan Sexual Misconduct Policy. They must also complete a BCI Background Check.
- Room Parents coordinate with the classroom teacher to determine what days or hours they will volunteer in the classroom.
Lunch/Recess Monitor
- Lunch/Recess monitors serve by helping us to maintain a safe playground where the kids can run and play.
- Lunch and Recess monitors volunteer from 12pm - 1pm during the school year. They can pick specific days they want to volunteer each week.
- All Lunch and Recess Monitors must first complete the Safe Environment Training and read the Diocesan Sexual Misconduct Policy (see links above). They must also complete a BCI Background Check.
