As a parent, you can get involved at Blessed Sacrament School in a number of different ways depending on your availability and interest. Take a look at the following descriptions and approximate time commitments. Then fill out this form and let us know how you'd like to get involved!
The Parents' Council serves as an advisory board to the principal.
Helps the principal to make big-picture decisions regarding the direction of the school.
Meets regularly twice a month for 1 hour.
Parent-Teacher Association (PTA)
The Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) serves by running a variety of school events such as dances, holiday celebrations, teacher appreciation week, Trunk or Treat, Winterfest, fundraisers, etc.
Meets regularly once a month for 1 hour
Event Preparation requires different time commitments based on the event or committee assignment.
Room Parents serve directly in the classroom by helping the teacher with a variety of activities.
All Room Parents must first complete the Safe Environment Training and read the Diocesan Sexual Misconduct Policy. They must also complete a BCI Background Check.
Room Parents coordinate with the classroom teacher to determine what days or hours they will volunteer in the classroom.
Lunch/Recess monitors serve by helping us to maintain a safe playground where the kids can run and play.
Lunch and Recess monitors volunteer from 12pm - 1pm during the school year. They can pick specific days they want to volunteer each week.
All Lunch and Recess Monitors must first complete the Safe Environment Training and read the Diocesan Sexual Misconduct Policy (see links above). They must also complete a BCI Background Check.
